ASUS Transformer Pad TF300

ASUS Transformer Pad TF300

ASUS certainly makes some good tablets and the Transformer Prime was an example of that. It was one of the first tablets that featured a quad- core processor and the price can be considered to be quite cheap at that time as well. However, those that want to get a cheaper alternative can look forward to the ASUS Transformer Pad TF300.

TECH-PLUZ
Sporting a 10 inch screen with IPS display, the ASUS Transformer Pad gives out accurate colors with a good viewing angle. Inside it is the Tegra 3 goodness that was already present in the Transformer Prime and along with it is a 1GB RAM as well. The performance on this device is still one of the best in the market and with its cheap price, it might be a favourite of many as well. Other interesting features include an 8MP camera at the back and also the dock which is quite synonymous with the ASUS tablet series.
Battery life on the other hand stands at around 8 hours although this number is 2 more when you connect it to the docking station. As far as the pricing is concerned, it is only $379 for the 16GB version and $399 for the 32GB. To get any other tablets at this price with similar specs would be hard if not impossible.

IPS tablet goodness for $150 from Xtex

IPS tablet goodness for $150 from Xtex

As of date, the only noteworthy tablet that comes with an IPS screen and falls under the $150 is the refurbished version of the Kindle Fire. The new one would set you back for about $199. Nonetheless, it doesn’t mean that a less reputable country can’t make the same device for $150. We are taking about the My Tablet by Xtex.

TECH-PLUZ
This is a 7-inch tablet that comes with an IPS screen. This type of display is known for its color accuracy and sharpness but it isn’t available to a lot of tablets. In addition to that, it has a 1.5 GHz CPU along with 1GB worth of RAM. The storage space on the other hand is 16GB although this is expandable to up to 48GB through the microSD card slot which supports expansion of up to 32GB.
Xtex My Tablet costs only $150 which is certainly cheaper than most tablets. In fact, its features certainly make it quite a worthy purchase especially for those that are in need of a cheap tablet. As it is powered by Android ICS, you can be certain that you are getting one of the latest operating system that the company has to offer. Besides, $150 isn’t a lot of money considering that you are spending that much on a tablet..

New Ultrabooks and Atom Tablets Offering by Intel in 2012

New Ultrabooks and Atom Tablets Offering by Intel in 2012

TECH-PLUZ

Intel chips have not yet been able to emulate the performance and efficiency of Apple processors, and in small mobile gadgets, Intel is nowhere in the game. In the race against the big players in the mobile device, chips and gearing up to meet the market threat posed by Macbook Air and iPad, Intel brings about 75 new Ultrabooks and 10 new tablets will be released by other Original Equipment Manufacturers based on Atom tablets.
Ultrabook Threat to Macbook

It is being said that over 178 million shipments of Ultrabooks are expected by 2016. The third generation Ultrabooks- with the Ivy Bridge processors- will hit the stores this spring, and it will include touch gesture systems too- 32nm Clovertrail Atom processors will come this year while 22nm will be launched in 2013.
Improvements to Intel Chips
The key to success of Intel is the power consumption of the processors- heavy power drain has been the reason Intel chips until recently have not been preferred by OEMs for the manufacture of smartphones and tablets. The new Ivy Bridge chips are coming with improved graphics capabilities supporting the onboard HD Graphics 2500/4000 GPU and OpenGL 3.1. The Intel Medfield brings the system-on-a- chip architecture to mobile gadgets. Power consumption will be brought down by the Shark Bay Intel platform and connectivity will improve using Thunderbolt.

Windows 8 Transformation Pack For Windows 7 / Vista / XP Now Available – Download Now

Windows 8 Transformation Pack For Windows 7 / Vista / XP Now Available – Download Now

Have you been hearing alot about the metro styled new OS from Microsoft? Yes, the Windows 8, and are you anxious to try it out but don’t want to go over the fuss of installing the consumer preview version? Well then worry no more because now you can just skin your old windows to feel and look like windows 8 with out ever installing the customer preview and its simple too.
TECH-PLUZ

Using the Windows 8 Transformation and UX pack 4.0 you can turn any version of the windows starting from XP and up into windows 8 look alike while the UX pack is only for use with Windows 7.
According to the developers, both packs have the same version number as to avoid confusion but to make things clear the UX pack does not modify any system files to bring you the metro styled UI on your old windows but it will only work on Win 7, while the transformation pack has been rendered more reliable and bug free with the help of user feed back that has brought-in some much needed improvements.
TECH-PLUZ

To better mimic the new UI the 4.0 version finally uses the Windows 8 Segoe UI font and includes all of the desktop wallpapers, pictures of guest and user accounts from the consumer preview. For those who couldn’t get around working with the immersive UI, charms bars have also been added as an alternate.
I would recommend these two great skinning apps for those who want to get the taste of this new metro UI without going over the trouble of installing the preview at the same time I would caution novice users to go ahead only if they know what they are doing because it may effect system performance and might not be all that easy to uninstall.

It should have been an application only an iOS user can be proud of but that isn’t the case anymore. Instagram, one of iOS most famous camera application has decided to expand its platform support to another famous one which is the Google Android. This comes to no surprise because the Android community had been trying to get their hands on the application and now with Instagram fulfilling their wish, iOS users has one less thing to be proud of.

HTC Evo One to be released soon by Sprint

HTC Evo One to be released soon by Sprint

TECH-PLUZ

HTC’s Evo is a wonder gadget. It exceeds all the other Android based phones with its features like 1GHz CPU extra fast, 4.3” screen; it comes with a dual camera, Sprint’s 4G WiMax connection. On top of it HTC’s Evo even has HDMI port.
All these terrific features made HTC Evo a wonder gadget and a personal favorite of its own owners.
Sprint’s plans:
Sprint’s hidden agenda is unveiled, and it appears Sprint is planning to bring that magic on once again by making announcements about HTC’s Evo one to be a re-branded HTC One X gadget. This announcement will be officially made in a press conference, in the night of Wednesday by next week, as sources at Android Central say.
HTC’s tie up with Sprint is an effort to make HTC Evo a model of HTC One X instead of its European brother. Evo brags about its extremely fast 4G LTE data network by Sprint, and that overtakes WiMax. ConsideringBatterylife, Evo will not give much on that.

More goodies included:

It includes Qualcomm Krait CPU with a 1.5GHz power, OLED screen of 4.7”, phone memory of 16 GB with a micro SD expansion, a 2650-mAh high-life battery, a dual camera having 8 megapixels in the rear and 2 megapixels in the front, including a beats audio feature.

For more icing to the cake, it includes Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and HTC’s 4.0 Interface. All this to be in stores after being released in a press event on 4 April!

Nokia announces the Nokia Ice, literally in frozen H2O

Nokia announces the Nokia Ice, literally in frozen H2O

In an attempt to put all of the products in the market to shame, Nokia decided to release a super-cool phone, the Nokia Ice. This is a technological breakthrough product that would definitely put other devices nowhere near the company’s devices. You would simply be astonished on the capability of the phone.
TECH-PLUZ

Charging is relatively easy because all you need to do is to put it into the freezer and let the endothermic chemical reaction do the charging. The internal hardware on the phone on the other hand uses a superhydrophobic coating which would repel any water that are available around it. This is quite the same as the technology used in Liquipel. Nokia claimed that all of these technologies aren’t easy but it has already existed and the company is doing its best to make use of it to its fullest potential..

As far as the design is concerned, you can pretty much sculpt the phone to whatever design you would like. The company had also talked to a few renowned ice sculptors on the possibility of what the design would be. If you have already read this long and want to know more about it, we would like to wish Happy April Fools’ Day to you too!

Sony to Introduce Android 4.0 Upgrade Next Month

Sony to Introduce Android 4.0 Upgrade Next Month

Sony has now officially announced that it plans to introduce the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS version upgrade for some of its select smartphones, starting as early as next month. The devices receiving this upgrade would include the Xperia arc S,Xperia neo V and Xperia ray in mid- April. This upgrade rollout, Sony mentioned, would take place gradually and would take about 3 to 4 weeks to complete the process.
Sony further mentioned that this upgrade would not be available over- the-air as is been the case most of the time with other upgrades. In order to install the said upgrade, hence, users would have to use their PC or Mac and then connect their device to transfer the entire process. It is expected that the Xperia PLAY, Xperia mini, Xperia mini pro, Xperia pro and some other smartphone would receive their upgrades by the end of May or in early June this year.
TECH-PLUZ

I personally am very excited about this latest announcement from Sony. The Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which is filled with many features and functionalities, is now long overdue. I suppose there will be a large number of Sony Xperia users who will be awaiting this release with bated breath as well.

The exact date of availability of this software upgrade will depend upon the specific Xperia model and also on the market location and carrier specifications in that particular location.

Black & Cyan Lumia 900 up for pre-orders from AT&T

The Lumia 900 is a device that so many people have been waiting for. It has taken such a long time to arrive ever since it was first announced. Those that have been waiting can now rejoice because the device is available for pre-order from AT&T already. However, the not-so-good news is that there are only two colors that are available from the company and these are Cyan and Black.
TECH-PLUZ

This device is Nokia's top-range product when it comes to its Lumia line. It has a TruBlack display which makes it possible to view the screen even under the brightest of conditions. In addition to that, it also supports the 4G LTE network in the United States which would definitely be a plus for many people that wants to experience the fastest internet access possible.

The Lumia 900 should be released sometime around 08 April 2012. The no commitment pricing of this device is at $449.99 although a two year contract would bring the number down to only $99.99. What's better is that you can also get a free $100 rebate for new AT&T customers and this means that the device can be yours for absolutely free.
